ZT 0770 3.25" Folder Speed Safe 6061 Review

I'm a big fan of Zero Tolerance knives. Made in America and always solid quality. I have ten ZT knives in my collection. The 770 I received last week has the aluminum handle, the CF will be better. First the good points. Well made, very sharp out of the box. No blade play at all, and the Elmax steel delivers a super strong edge. The knife is smaller then I thought it would be. Very comfortable to carry in front pocket of Levi's, not bulky at all. Now for what I don't like. I had to adjust the knife some to get the assisted opening to work well, after some lube it was better, still a little sticky, but it will break in. The assisted opening is triggered by applying pressure to a small stud on the blade when its closed. This model's stud is a bit to small, needs to be larger like the 350, and other assisted opening knives. For this reason alone my 770 will stay in my knife drawer a lot. I may even sale it. ZT makes great knives, this one just does not impress me. Get a 350 if you want a solid knife for EDC, you just can't beat it for the price.
