I saw this originally on the lampsplus website, and the CA dealer also sells through amazon. Same price so I bought this lamp here. It looks great, easy to install (I had a previously existing wired box). Problems: the light of 3 40-watt bulbs (I used soft white) were diffused so much by the faux mica plates that the light was incredibly dim, like a single 40watt bulb. Wow, there is absolutely no way about this, and I should have installed it sooner and tried it out, that way I couls have sent it back for a refund. What I had to do was remove the mica bottom (2 semi-circular pieces glued together) from the inside and replace it with frosted glass. Poor choice on the materials!

Also, when you turn the light on, you will hear an initial crackling as the glue holding the faux mica together at the seams begins to expand. It is an annoying sound. I'm surprised they would market this. Of course, my glue could have been old, but then again, wrong glue used then.

Would actually not recommend this for the price of $80. Maybe $40.
