Installed it today, but I've had it about a month. took me a while to get everything set up to mount it.

The good points are.. it works as it should, It sends emails on motion detect just fine.. and has a finer granularity of features than my foscams do (more config options)

The bad points are.. I have never gotten it to work on wifi (and its not for a lack of trying. I'm a programmer with a fair amt of admin experience, and still could not figure it out. not saying someone can't, just I couldn't). I went to the wifi setup screen, it found my wifi.. put in the login info... Nothin. the Wifi never grabs an IP address from DHCP, and it can't be found on a hardcoded IP address. what more can you do?

also.. you'd better mount this one at least 15-20 feet away from your intended viewing area or you won't be seeing much. meaning, it will feel like it is zoomed in when it is not. This thing is meant to watch a large area.

Unfortunately the cable that is attached to the unit is permanently attached, and is only about 3 feet long. Thee end is split off into about 6 smaller cables, which makes it hard to fish into a small hole (the network adapter is about 1 & 1/4 inch, so figure that in when you are thinking about drilling a hole into your house (my largest spade bit is 1 inch, so I had to get creative)

once you get all the octopus wires into the hole you drill, you are gonna have to fill that hole back up with something, so start looking. you aren't going to be able to get a rubber grommet around that wire unless you cut the grommet, so it will be either that, or some sort of outdoor caulk to seal things back up.
