Atlas Homewares DK644-BRN Mission Collection 5.38-Inch Door Knocker, Brushed Nickel Review

This Atlas door knocker is beautiful on our Cape Cod style house. It isn't too fancy and the lines are clean and attractive. It comes with a little square piece (strike plate) for the knocker to rap against. In place, the strike plate sticks out too far and makes the knocker look like it's not all the way down. Also, when you open and close the door, the knocker hits the plate and makes noise that really irritated me.

I took the strike plate off and now the knocker sits flush against the door. The knocker no longer bangs on the door when I open it. When people use the knocker, they are striking the wood door so I suppose, over time, there will be a dent in the wood but that's better than listening to the knocker hit the strike plate every time I open the door to go out.

I gave it 3 stars because of the strike plate problem but, if you can make it work for you like I did, it's quite attractive, a good weight and seems to be good quality.
